Yesterday and today and again tomorrow I am wearing one of my other hats - I am a member of the Board of Trustees for Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL. It is one of only 7 work colleges in the country and it is the only work college that is managed by the students. They have built the buildings, they take care of the facilities, the maintenance, the food service, and work in marketing, admissions - every department has students. It is a concept that more 4 year liberal arts colleges should have adopted years ago.

Not only does Blackburn give students a wonderful education, it gives them unmatched work experience which translates into strong time management and interpersonal skills.

Check it out at Blackburn College and if you have a student that is interested in a small private school Blackburn was ranked #17 in a National ranking of the Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the 2013 Washington Monthly College Rankings - making it the best baccalaureate college in Illinois!!

And we offer free tuition to incoming freshman with the greatest need!! This is a great school. I am available to bring potential students for campus visits or at least give them more information!
