Poetry Day #6
Today we were challenged to take on the point of view of one person or animal in a triptych by Hieronymus Bosch – to take a look at this piece of art – rather 3 pieces go to this link

I have stared at it more than once so far today, and it literally makes me tired there is so much going on. All in a fabulous way! I had to just go with the first thing that grabbed my attention – well two things really – I think a person could write a thousand poems just by looking at these three panels.
A Haiku for Bosch
All alone but swarmed
Garden of Earthly Delights
Naked with a duck
Bosch’s Wood Duck
I am but a solitary wood duck
Feeding grapes to a naked man
I feel small yet in charge
Of these humans that wander in a trance
Participating in some kind of
Other worldly orgy
As the animals we are both slave and amusement
To them even in their diminutive size
And seemingly diminished capacity
I watch with wonder as a woman inserts
A fragrant bouquet into a rectal vase
And he relishes becoming the repository
I am but a solitary wood duck
These images will haunt me for
The rest of my life
